Why do Baldwin Gretsches have such a bad wrap? Vintage Guitars

Snobbery? Or just because the 60s Gretsches were so good? I don't know. I played a Super Chet recently and thought it was really nice. Though I m not sure who thought a guitar needed a built-in phaser...

I picked up a '79 TK 300 for very little money. You almost can't get a cheapo Japanese guitar from that era for that price. I know that collectors are purists and certain periods are tainted, but it's still a nice vintage guitar that looks funky and plays amazingly well. I just feel like an American made guitar from the 70's deserves a higher price tag, though I'm not complaining about my buy of course, their snobbery, my gain!
