Berlin could hardly show itself from a more colorful side: Numerous groups of many different nationalities from all over the world offer music, dance, performance, visual arts and acrobatics at the 'Karneval der Kulturen' (Carnival of Cultures). On four festival days, the capital of Germany is even more international, cosmopolitan, dynamic and colorful than usual. Every year since 1995, more than 500,000 people celebrate the multiculturalism of the city at Pentecost.

The number of actors has now risen to over 5,000: From Brazilian samba to Chinese lion dance, from West African drums to Bernese carnival players, groups from all over the world participate with their decorated wagons in a parade that lasts up to eight hours, celebrating through their traditional music and dance the diversity of Berlin.

The parade on Sunday is the highlight of the carnival. But apart from this, you can find many concerts, performances and markets taking place in the area of Kreuzberg during those four days. Anyone who loves music and dance will love the Berlin Karneval der Kulturen!

The next carnival will take place from the 7th to the 10th of June 2019, don't miss it! ;)
